West Wales is a relatively small region. It takes approximately 5 hours to explore the whole region by car, and with stunning scenery around every bend, we have some of the most scenic drives in Britain. If planning a road trip, we advise at least five days to enjoy the various stopping points along the way.
West Wales is well-connected by buses and trains so you can travel around without a car - and many coach trips offer a tour of West Wales too. If you decide to move from place to place, we recommend planning your route carefully and booking your accommodation in advance.

If you're staying with us at Dulais Retreat near New Quay, all of West Wales is easily accessible, and within a short drive. Our location offers the perfect base for the whole holiday, and you can spend your days in between relaxing at our peaceful resort in your own private jacuzzi.

Our second city, Swansea, lies in the coastal and cultural region of West Wales. Home to colourful seaside villages and some of the UK's greatest beaches, the West Wales region covers three areas - Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
